Whether you are a native of New York, or just a visitor, with 4.3 million fans around the world there is a good chance that you are one of them.
The Yankees probably have the most storied history in all of major league sports. With grandiose icons like Babe Ruth, Lou Gehrig, and Mickey Mantle (sorry, no A-Rod) you can’t deny the legacy. Year after year the Yankees have been a major contender in the game.
Unfortunately last year a piece of history was destroyed when the old Yankee stadium was torn down and replaced by the new one. While the new stadium is a beacon of progress and size with fiber optic cables and 500,000 more square feet, you won’t walk into it and feel like you are standing in the footsteps of the greats.
Here is an interesting financial fact about the new stadium. It is the second most expensive stadium in the world at a price of 1.5 Billion. The old stadium cost 2.4 Million in 1923.
Since my rant abhorring the demolition of history is done, here is some information to help you catch your next Yankees game.
