24. The Museum of the American Gangster

If you are a fan of pretty much any Martin Scorsese movie, this museum might be right up your alley.  Just don’t go down an alley.
MOAG is a recent addition to the grand list of NYC museums which just opened earlier this spring.

The museum allows you to get the inside scoop of the world of the American gangster.  The stories you will hear are presented with evidence and stories from both sides of the law, the gangsters as well as the police.
One of the coolest things about the museum is that it is located in a former speakeasy.  It is like taking a virtual step back into their criminal world of violence, god, and family.
You can take part in several different events that the museum hosts including walking tours, lectures, movies and more.  You can read more about the museum of the American Gangster here.
Location:
80 St. Marks Place
New York, NY 10003
MOAG hours:
Mon - Fri: 2pm and 4pm
Sat: 12pm, 2pm and 4pm
Sun: Closed
