18. Mud

Wanna go get coffee sometime?  How about some Mud?  That sounds positively disgusting you say.  Or does it?

In the beginning, Mud set out to be the anti-Starbucks.  I know that going against Starbucks can be thought of as a cardinal sin by some, but this is the approach Mud appears to have taken.  The saying goes that there is a Starbucks on every corner.  Well, technically mud is on every corner… ha.  No seriously, they have a truck.

On the first day there was light, on the second there was the Mud Truck.  The beginning was in March of 2001 and soon after the city was buzzing.  They were buzzing from the caffeine and with gossip about where they got it from.  The Mud name traveled fast and now it is one of New York’s trendiest places to get a cup.  For those who claim to be anti-establishment, they sure are a good one.  Mud is the place to go if you are in the mood for some great coffee, company, and music.
